A multi-screen, multi-participant performance utilizing the phones of the audience members. In this series of works, I used the phone’s screen, speaker, microphone, and camera in different ways—activating the technology that sits in every pocket.

The attached video documents a “telephone canon” in a cinema hall: a sound piece performed simultaneously by 300 phones. I was interested in working with the existing screens in the space, and exploring how, and in what ways, the whole might become greater than the sum of its parts.
