Inner Window @ GRAZ
Interactive video installation, multi channel big projections, a phone camera and a window, 2021
This video installation was created during an artist residency in Graz, Austria, and was inspired in part by the architecture of the guesthouse where I stayed—an imposing Brutalist structure designed by Günther Domenig. Through the spatial arrangement, I examined intimacy in human encounters mediated by screens, cameras, computers, and windows.
Inside, a phone camera points at the viewer, with large projections on three walls creating a transformative spatial experience. During the exhibit, I sat in a hidden corner of the gallery, performing live video manipulations, tailoring the content and duration for each viewer. The video included 3D models, live camera feeds, and pre-recorded materials.
The work creates an interplay between presence and projection, reality and representation. It explores the act of looking—both inward and outward—inviting the viewer to consider their role as both observer and participant within the constructed space.
