How To Be Alone

A short film, 10:30 min, 2019

A short film revolving around a young woman and a computer exploring virtual and physical worlds, searching for the right questions. In this film I examine the paradox of the internet: while sitting alone before the screen, I connect to an infinite stream of consciousness, souls, and knowledge.

I made it while living in Brighton, England, filming, acting, and editing myself. My twin brother composed the soundtrack, reminding me I’m never truly alone.

I made this film in 2019, before the pandemic forced everyone to be alone, in 2021 it won Best Experimental Film in the Jerusalem Film Festival.

A seagull flying in the sky with a plain white background.
A park scene with a large, leafless tree near a pond, surrounded by green shrubs and smaller trees, with benches and seagulls on the grass and water.
A person in a white jacket walking near a large stone sea wall with a round, barred opening in the center.
Person standing on a concrete pier at the beach with waves crashing behind them, sunlight reflecting on the water and sky.
A person sitting on a swing attached to a metal post under a pier over the water, with the pier's metal framework above and the water below, during sunset.
